International Baccalaureate
What is an IB Education?
The International Baccalaureate program emphasizes the development of skills such as critical thinking, research, communication, and intercultural understanding, preparing students to become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners who contribute positively to the world around them. Through emphasizing academic growth, international mindedness, service learning, and meaningful research students are challenged to see the world from new perspectives while recognizing and respecting our differences. The IB program seeks to develop skilled thinkers, communicators, and collaborators prepared to succeed in a rapidly changing global society.
A.C. Davis High School has proudly offered the International Baccalaureate (IB) program since 1987, one of the first in the state of Washington. The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program at A.C. Davis High School is an opportunity for students to raise their learning and personal growth to a whole new level. IB promotes more than just rigorous coursework and exams for the 1-6 classes students can take, instilling character development and a comprehensive approach to a complex and evolving world, preparing students for college, career, and their future lives.

“IB is for an average Davis student who has or wants to have extraordinary work habits.”
-Zac Rau, IB Math Teacher

“The IB program is the most fun I've had in school in years -- it's like elementary school, in that you gain so much cool knowledge, so fast, but with college-level material that all comes together in a really neat way.” -Wilson Harper, Class of 2025
"The IB program was a whirlwind adventure of learning and growth that embraced my curiosity and encouraged me to think in completely new ways. I have become a more confident, globally-minded version of myself as a result." -Vivianna Phillips, Class of 2020
